Disk Utilty - "No valid packages"

Hey all, I zapped a work colleagues home puter to 10.3.3 tonight and ran disk utilities to repair permissions, and that message came up.. I know is related to the packages/receipts that they deleted from that folder in a desperate recover space on their small hdd, is there a way to fix it so I can check/fix permissions on his machine? I tired a proggy on macupdate but that runs thru it in like 2 secs so I am thinking that didnt work either.

i had exactly the same problem several weeks ago. The only way to fix it, is to start your computer from the sys. cd, run diskutily.app, fix the volume, than fix the privileges. that should fix it all

I fixed it by copying the basesystem.pkg from another machine of same build and dropped it into the receipts folder and then it worked

    Thx for your suggestion
