Different Size Icons On Desktop

I thought I saw a hack somewhere a while ago that allowed you to display different size icons on you desktop. For example have your HD at 64x64 but the rest of your icons at 48x48. I'd just like to do this so I can have the most used icon on the desktop the largest and I figure it might look good...but It could look real ugly I'm not sure until I try. Anyone know if I imagined it, or if it's possible?
