Keynote Driving Me Crazy!

I have the text box selected...why can't I chose a fill for it? I could swear I've chosen to do a gradient fill on a text box before.

Note: This isn't a pro-democratic slide, just the first thing to happen in the presidential race.

I just tried it, opened up a blank document (using Gradient theme) and was able to apply a gradient to the default title and sub title on the default slide. It seems that the text boxes on Master Slides (the default ones, not created text boxes) act different then just using the text tool. Besides the background the Master Slide text boxes have 8 resize handles while the user created ones don't

It interesting I never noticed this before....

Ok, thanks for checking that out. Now I know I'm not crazy, now I'm just annoyed.

The only thing you can seem to do is put a shape behind it and fill that.

Create a table, and then gradient fill/type in that. The text sticks inside the box.

(Probably how you did it before).
