Installation problem (bus error)
My Mac OS X has been down, so I am trying to reinstall my operating system. I inserted the CD and held down 'c' on start up. After the gray screen in done loading, it goes onto the blue screen. It stays there for about 20 secs and then a message comes up saying installation halted 'unknown error 0'.
I am unable to boot up my machine so I can not run the install from the desktop. I have switched out my current hard drive with another and tried to install the OS on the new one, but I am getting the same error.
I tried to run 'fsck -y' on the original hard drive and it does through a series of checks, then when it tries to repair the volume, it stops and returns 'bus error'.
Is there anything that I can do that can fix this 'bus error' and what kind of hardware problems would cause these error. I desperatly need help.
