Scratching sound on powerbook 1.25...

Hey- when ever I have my powerbook plugged in to recharge it makes this scratching noise... its very annoying when I'm trying to work on a paper in a quite area because all you hear is scratching. If I unplug the power its fine and goes away.

It sound like its trying to access the hard drive constantly, but its not the hard drive because I can tell the difference between the hard drive reading and this scratching sound- it sounds that same just not as loud. It also comes from the other side of the computer- not where the HD is located...

Any ideas?

Not too sure about that bro, but I will move this into the Genius Bar for you. Maybe you'll get an answer in there, no one seems to be answering you in GD.

Just to be safe...check the SMART status of your disk.

    Go into Terminal, type in:

    Code:

    diskutil info disk0

Check the line that says "SMART Status:"

If it says anything but "verified" after that, you've got problems. If it says verified, than it's probably just a power supply issue.
