Airport Extreme and D-Link USB WIreless Adaptor

I have an Ibook G4 running OSX 10.3.3. I am trying to connect to an airport network with a D-Link DWL-122 USB wireless adaptor which is listed as being compatible with Panther. The wireless adaptor driver creates a menu bar icon with the wireless connection status. WIth this I am able to see the airport network I want to connect to. It shows the proper channel and is able to detect the signal integrety. But when I go to connect it asks for a WEP password. I use the option Apple Password and type in the Password for the airport. Nothing seems to happen, I click connect and it does nothing. Anybody got any ideas?
