imovie issues
hi,
recently entered the world of apple, through an ibook, as i had to replace my pc as it just wasnt up to my video editing demands. Any way onto my query, Im running imovie with a sony digital 8 180 trv through firewire (the obvious). The otherday i had no problem importing video to my i book, however i tried doing it today and every time it imports about 3.5 or 4.5 secs (exactly) then stops.I can import again but it only does 3.5 or 4.5 secs worth. My ibook seems to suddenly jutter as if its run out of juice. This isn't due to the auto scene change thingy.
Im a bit puzzled, maybe im just being stupid.
If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful.
(i know i had written ipod originally,just had other things on my mind at the time)

It's not also recommanded to import DV on external HD, if both the camera and the HD are on the same Firewire channel.
