Loud Music on eMac Shakes Screen

I just bought my mother a 1.25Ghz eMac. I've noticed that anytime you have relatively loud music coming from the built in speakers, the screen shakes slightly and even flickers a bit. Is this normal? I've tested this on three eMacs and they all do the same thing. Would external speakers help?

Yes, provided they are not vibrating the desk too much.



It's the aperture grill vibrating (or shadow mask, but I think eMacs are Sony Trinitrons still).



Any CRT with speakers built in should do this if its loud enough.

i consider this screen shakiness to be a major problem with the emac. it has these speakers, but you really can't use them because they are poorly shielded and the case is apparently poorly designed.



external speakers will fix it.
