I bet things would be a lot different if it was a 23 year-old male hottie raping a 14 year old girl. Such a double standard.

I have to agree on the double standard. Hell I was 14 once and I tried to get laid all the time. It is different for men. We are more predatory than women. This case is getting undue attention though because of the beauty of the plaintiff.

But I think that the charges should be dependant upon the boys parents: do they want to throw the book at her? Is he traumatized?

I also believe the term "rape" needs to be more rigidly defined, since it is used so indiscriminantly to attach a context to an event, rather than accurately describe an event. Rape is more than what you say for a reason. A 30 year old could easily coerce a 10 year old to say yes.
