So, I ask again: what the hell are you talking about? <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />
Besides, Mac OS X runs JUST FINE on cards that don't support Quartz Extreme. It runs better than 10.1 even, just not as good as it would with a decent video card.
I have a geforce 2 MX i couldnt be happier my computer goes through the login screen in around 15 20 seconds i can minimize a movie with out losing a frame do all my web development with out a single slow down or a crash while servering a website and crunching RC5 and watching itunes visuals not one slow down so i dont know what computer your using but its 10.2 is a OS of a diffrent color. QE does run fine on a geforce 2mx i can vouch for that. Its not just QE that makes jag fast either as stated earlier in my post...
EDIT: fixed an error, maybe I should check for those before I post...
My iMac with GeForce 2MX runs Jaguar quite fast actually... I don't know what kind of crack you're on, but it must be really good if you can't even go to Apple's web site and look up the QE requirements for yourself.
There was similar moaning when someone from xlr8yourmac mentioned that upgraded video cards did better with QE. Well, no kidding! You're offloading tasks to the GPU, of course a 4X AGP card is going to be better than 2X, and 64MB is going to be better than 32! That's like saying an 800MHz G4 encodes faster than a 400MHz. But immediately people were screaming that the machine they just bought was "not supported."
Someone should really do a study to determine if the advent of the Internet has caused a general tendency toward flying off the handle.
You start a thread bashing Apple for something they've done... and you can't be bothered to go to apple.com and LOOK first? Certainly smells trollish if you ask me, especially taking into account your other high quality posts this afternoon...

Dissatisfied? Of course not. Why, I'm the proud owner of a Slowsilver(tm) tower. What could I possibly be dissatisfied about?
what grieves ye so?
