FrontSide bus upgradable on new G4 ?

First, I'm not sure to know what a FrontSide bus (FSB) is. Can you explain it to me ?

Second, is the FSB upgradable on the new dualies ?

I understand that the actual FSB are the principal bottleneck on the new PM. They don't access fully the new DDR ram. But sometimes in the future, could we be able to upgrade it ?

Thanks.

That depends on the connection between the system controller chipset and the processor daughter card. If the link supports faster speeds than currently implemented (thus making it G5 upgradeable), then when new processors supporting faster bus speeds, perhaps the rumored MPC7470, MPC7500, or maybe what will be known as G5 would be able to talk to the logic board at speeds that would benifit from DDR333 SDRAM.
