Mac Reformat???

Yes..Yes...EZ Question...but I am new to the Mac world. I have reformatted PCs many times before, yet I have never reformatted a Mac. I figure since most everything is easier to do on a Mac, this should be too, but I just need some direction to make my Mac new again. TIA!!!

    you need to boot to a os install cd (with the cd in the drive, hold c on startup). From there, use disk utility to erase the hard drive.

    Unless you aren't trying to format your boot disk, in which case Disk Utility will work fine.
