Upgrading an iMac 350 to Fire Wire?

I have an iMac 350 - it has 2 USB ports and I would like to add Fire Wire. Is this at all possible?

I know that the models that came out following mine shipped with Fire Wire.

    I don't know why I remembered this.

It's a processor upgrade and a firewire port rolled into one.

    Ebby,

You can't use that model on a 350MHz iMac (100MHz bus, slot loading)

Thanks - Does anyone make something similar for an iMac 350 with a slot loading drive?

In theory, let's say I could get my hands on the panel from an iMac DV that has the Firewire/USB/Ethernet ports - would I be able to swap it with the USB/Ethernet panel that is on my machine?

    I don't think so.

AFAIK ( I changed an iMac 350 's Hard Drive last weekend), this panel is directly connected to the motherboard, and this model probably doesn't include a Firewire chip on the mobo.

Hmmm...I changed my HD last week as well (I got a Western Digital 100 Gig, 7200 RPM), but I really wasn't paying attention to the board. I will have to take a better look when I install a slot loading DVD this weekend.

It kind of sucks that were stuck having only USB 1 on our iMac 350 machines...

Well that's the problem with Apple's comsumer stuff, you can't upgrade them.
