Cable internet and the Bondi blue
I have a friend that just got cable internet, Adelphia, with an Adephia supplied cable modem. It goes from the modem to a Netgear switch 10/100 ( not router ). Neither of her Bondi's can connect to the internet. I brought over my pb and had no problems at all, connected in seconds. I tried different ports and straight thru and cross over cables and still her machines won't connect. Going into TCP/IP shows the switch address and I can ping both machines from a different port with my pb. Its got to be something simple that I am missing. TCP/IP is set to ethernet and DHCP. She is running 9.1 on both. The switch does not have a firewall and I think should should get a router with a firewall anyway.
