power mac G4 startup problems

i'm having problems with a 500 mhz G4 power mac, and i can't get it to start up. i press the power button and the little light comes on, but dims right out. so i assume its getting some power, but possibly not enough. is there a way to test it or is there someway i can figure out if there's another problem? i've been thinking of taking it to the genius bar at the apple store. any other suggestions?

    Try resetting the logic board by pressing the PMU reset switch next to the battery. If that doesn't resolve the problem then you are probably looking at a bad logic board, maybe a bad processor.
