Zapping the PRAM

Is zapping the PRAM occasionaley still a recommended maintenance chore?

I had purchased RAM from OWC that is supposed to be CL2 but the profiler says it is CL3 and they recommended zapping the PRAM.

My old chip has always read CL2 and still does.

Is it worth it?

If so, how do I do it again?

Thanks

well, i don't know if it's recommended, but to do it, when you start up, hold Apple-Option P-R all at once, and wait for your mac to make the startup noise 3 or more times, because it'll restart itself
