Washington DC The Expos are moving to DC. They are going to use RFK staduim for 3 years and in 2008 have a stadium ready for them. The stadium is supposed top be in SE DC. Which is the most dangerous neighbot hood at night in DC. Officals hope that the stadium will transform SE. I think it is a stupid idea. RFK is a fine stadium when renovated. They won't be named the Senetors again because the Texas Rangers legally own that name(they were moved from DC ). So names are flying around. I personally like one suggested name which is the Washington Presidents.

I guess you fail to realize that RFK is, more or less, in SE DC. I guess the plan is to push the poor and the crack dealers further into PG county. Anyway, SE DC could be worse. The East side of the city is generally poorer than the west side, although the SouthEast is made worse by the fact that it's near the largest sewage treatment plant in the world. There's an ice hockey rink down there that I used to play at from time to time, back in high school. It's not a terrible, terrible place to be, so long as you're not walking around alone at night with crack heads on the loose.

Large numbers of people and street lights do a lot to deter crime. So does a little thing called stadium security.

I feel bad for the Expos...they got run out of town. People forget that Montreal was a thriving baseball town for years, and there were some very good Expos teams-they were killer in the strike-shortened 1994 season.

If the Expos were treated properly, instead of mishandled...then they could have been viable in Montreal.

This is all Bud Selig's doing-he has corrupted baseball in many ways

-Owning the Brewers and serving as commissioner at the same time

-Threatening the Twins and Expos with contraction (while quite possibly conspiring to move those franchises)

-Loaning MLB money to owners buying an MLB franchise

-Ignoring the steroids issue and hoping for the best, then protecting superstars like Barry bonds

Selig is very bad for baseball. It will take years for whoever takes his place to clean up the mess he and his cronies have made.

Whatever. DC has a team now. DC full of sports junkies, and in 5 years the DC team will be the richest team in the league. That's probably why Selig moved them, in retrospect.

Didn't washington lose the senators twice?

Let's wait before calling this an "upgrade"...

    Go Expos! We'll always remember.
