Final Cut Express Capture question

Is it possible to capture digital video straight to a hard drive using Final Cut Express?

I seem to remember seeing it somewhere where you could do that but I don't know where I saw it.

In other words the camera picks up the video but instead of saving to tape, it saves right to the hard drive....

Yes this is possible. Connect you camcorder, set it to "record" (but dont accually record anything). You can now record straight from the camera using Final Cut Express' capture option. At least, this works well with iMovie, so I believe it'll be very similair in FC Express.

Correct me if im wrong, but im 90% sure this is possible. Dont see any reason why it shouldnt.
