has anyone else noticed that if you run scan disc on your iPod while it isn't plugged into a power socket, it drains the battery to dead?

I hope others have noticed this, if not my battery may be rooted.

Have you ever felt how hot the iPod gets after a disc scan? Of course it drains the battery--that hard drive isn't normally spun that long.

Yeah it was burning up big time during the disc scan.... and doing it on a packed train with no air conditioning on the hottest October day ever on record probably didn't help..... My Sanity.
