How much RAM in WallStreets?

My WallStreet currently has 256MB RAM in each slot, ie 512 MB all told. However, I have read that OSX runs considerably faster and with less use of the HD if there's more than 638MB RAM available.

Has anyone experiences with using 512MB RAM modules in WallStreets? I seem to remember someone writing about that at one stage....

I am aware that Apple Technotes point out that WallStreet cannot address modules properly, when they use units with more than 256Mbit (by unit I mean each black chip on a module); I first put 256MB modules in that used 512Mbit units and the computer could only see 128MB on each module.

Any positive experiences? thanx,
