Apple were featured on BBC news, due to the opening of their new store in the UK. Basically they were saying how well the iPod was doing and said that the computers were doing so well with only 3% market share, still Aplle made the news which is cool.

Link to the BBC new article.

    Notable things from the article:
    • Apple waited four years for the property

    • The store is on Regent Street (it's one of the green set in Monopoly).

    • The nearest planned Apple Store is 245 miles from me.

Amazing. Police estimate there were 5,000 people on (in) line! Here's an updated article from BBC News.

The "local" editions of Monopoly are simply sacreligious.

Your point? It's pretty obvious he was talkin about the London edition, this is the London Apple store after all.

The contents of the lucky bags look a bit disappointing compared to previous events...

First, I didn't even know the Atlantic City street names version existed until I was about 20 years old. I had only ever seen or heard of the London version. I still couln't name a single street on the Atlantic City version (except, of course, the ones kindly identified above, which I will forget within one minute of closing this window).

Second, even the the Atlantic City names are simply one of many earlier local editions. It just happens to be the version adopted by Parker Bros.

Third, I wish we had an apple store like that is Australia. Adelaide would be best (because I live here), but I guess I could make it to Melbourne for an openning. It is probably too far to go to Sydney.

    Cheers
