If you had to name your 5-10 essential and favourite applications for the Apple computer what would they be?

    Word 2004 (excel counts too)

    Fetch



    i would also include the following but i don't use them everyday

    Firefox

    iTunes

    skype

    Remote Desktop

    I would have to have the following:

    1. Appleworks

    2. Safari

    3. iTunes

    4. Photoshop Elements (2 or 3)

    5. Quicken

    6. Toast Titanium

    7. Garageband

    i am surprised to hear apple works. I know it it more expensive (even when only $150 with a student discount) to use Word but it just seems like a much better program. Appleworks is antiquated as they get IMHO

    Appleworks may have seemed a strange entry on my must-have list, but it does everything I want it to. It may be antiquated by today's standards, but I guess I'm antiquated too. I have also used NeoOffice/J and find it useful, but awfully slow to come up.

    Lets see,



    #1. Definately iTunes, can't go on the computer w/o it.

    #2 Safari. My main browser. Rarely even touch firefox/camino/ omniweb

    #3 Launchbar. It always loads right away and i cannot imagine working w/o it.

    #4 Photoshop. Probably the most impressive app ever made.

    #5 Golive. Not the best made web designer but it gets the job done and i like it.

    #6 Cyberduck. Great free ftp utility that has some really awsome features.

    #7 QuickTunes. App i made, but extremely useful for me in particular. I can't remember all the names of my songs in my library.

    #8 XCode this is probably much higher but im too lazy to renumber my list. Great program, the best IDE ive used.

    #9 Proteus great multi-proticol instant messenger. Use it alot

    #10 Colloquy great irc chat program. Use it to answer all my questions i have.



    Runner up- Mail.app & Microsfot word.
