help with printing HP deskjet 940c

I recently upgraded to 10.3, and part of that upgrade seems to have been a new driver for my printer. Unfortunately, one of the 'improvements' has meant I can no longer decide where on an A4 glossy paper I can place my picture - it has to be dead center. Fine if the picture is large, but if I want to print 4 or 5 pictures on the same paper (by passing it through the printer several times) I can no longer do so.
I know that the work around is to go to Photoshop, create a new image, paste the multiple images and so end up printing effectively one picture, but what I really want is to place the picture as before.
I've looked around for older drivers, but without any joy.
Anyone know how I can fix this?
