Digital cam as webcam?

Forgive me if I can't phrase my questions properly.



Is there any way to use a digital camera as a webcam on the mac? Meaning use a digital camera like an iSight?



Most cameras seemed to have a limit on the amount of time you can record video, is there any way remove the limit while it's connected to a mac? Meaning use it as videocam while it's connected to the mac and record straight to HD?

    No, but you can use your camcoder as a webcam. I don't the digital camera supports continous video recording or capture.

    I use my Canon DV camera as a webcam almost daily. Firewire connection is the key. For it to work you can't have a tape in. The camera defaults to demo mode then. Works great.
