Preference files?

I've recently had to reinstall a machine a number of times and I'm getting a bit tired of rearranging InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshops palettes the way I like them. The same goes for the other day-to-day apps like Mail.

Are there a bunch of preference/configuration files that I can grab before I reinstall the machine?

It would save a lot of time if I could simply reinstall the apps and then configure them by simply dragging some files across!

Thanks in advance!

Yes. I'm not sure where Photoshop keeps its preferences, but most apps keep them in your ~/Library/Preferences folder. Photoshop's should be something like com.adobe.photoshop.plist but they may have something different. Just move those files over to the same folder in the new install and PS should get all of its setting from it.
