iPod Shuffle - How To? -LEDs

I was just curious if anyone had a chance to play with the thing. Steve mentioned that there are LEDs that let you know exactly what you're doing...can anyone elaborate on this. Also, does it make any audible noise or click when you're skipping tracks etc...?
