Quick question: Has anyone run into any issues upgrading the G4 12" ibook hard drive to an OEM 2.5" 5400RPM HD? Any BIOS size issues going above 60GB>?
Sorry, I misread your post. I would not recommend opening up your 12" ibook unless you have some experience and the proper tools to do so without breaking the frame. I have good experience with the Powerbooks but the 12" iBook really was very difficult to open up. I would take it to an apple tech and have them do the upgrade for around $100 - believe me, it's worth it.
Previous Post: I've upgraded the HD on a 12" AL PB, specifically to the 60 GB 7200 rpm drive. I have to admit, it was a bit of a pain with the hardest part getting the top cover off (it attaches to the AL base); it's very easy to make scratches!
