note that the new lapzilla and MiniTi have an extra key (78 not 77)...

finally a dedicated eject key for those who bitched about mixed function for FnF12

12 function keys PLUS an optical eject key

who says apple isn't offering more features

Well, this way only F7 through F12 are true function keys. F1 through F6 still require the Fn key to be pressed down in order to be used as F keys instead of brightness or volume controls or the number lock.

My Tibooks F12 is really a dedicated Eject button, it has the icon on it and no matter what app I am in it works by simply pressing.

    Is this the same thing?

[Edit: Oh sill me, I see what you mean, My TiBook has 77 keys. I should think before I reply. ]

do you think they had room for another button now that they didn't need to have the spaced to detatch the keyboard?

thats exactly it, they dont need the latches or lock anymore....

personally, I dont like the way they handeled it with odd-sized keys... IMO the esc & eject keys should have taken all the extra space and the 1-12 Fn keys should be the standard width... as of right now they are all oddly sized...

after a while, if you use it as your primary computer, you'll get used to it. Then it will no longer matter.
