IF (a big one) all major apps do take advantage of MP and we have the following choices:

1.6Ghz G5 and Dual 1Ghz G4

Which one you will pick?

I think I would pick G5 if the price difference isn't too outragouesly huge. I like big number

Prob the G5, as it should have new architecture-bus, memory etc & a new case

I'd wait for some real-life benchmarks and pick the machine with the better specs. I don't care if it packs 1, 2 or 65536 CPUs as long as it performs.

Now that I think about it, I'd get whichever I could afford.

if both had the same motherboard architecture probably the dual G4 1Ghz because it would perform better. if it didn't then I would get the G5.
