Partitions Gone....

I came home from work today, turned on my G4 and all my partitions except my OS X partition were gone!!! It also dosen't see any discs I put in. I can't start from my OS 9 CD because it says bus error please restart with out extensions (Which I can't do since it's a cd rom startup). what do I do?

    Check all ide cables are firmly plugged in.

    Try resetting the PRAM. (option-apple-pr 3 times or similar combination after poweron).
