New Highland Park, TX Apple Store... does it have the 17" PB?

I got an email from Apple a while back informing area customers about the opening of the HP store last weekend. In the e-mail it said they would have all the MWSF stuff on display, including the 17" PB.

Can anyone confirm? I won't be back in the Dallas area until this coming weekend.

Thanks.

I was there just last night and they didn't have them, and didn't have any timetable as to when they would arrive.

Oh, it is a MUCH smaller store than the Willow Bend store. Not nearly as impressive.

I can confirm this. Employee told me that people ordering them would have priority over the Apple Store. I agree, it is too small, not nearly as impressive as the other stores I have seen. They don't have the area for presentations like the Willow Bend store has. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    Thanks for the replies.

Well, provided they display the normal set of computers and hardware I don't think I will be trekking out past Bush Turnpike anymore.

It is still worth a visit. Parking is kind of a bioch, but being an Aple store and all it was cool. I found the employees really nice and not pushy at all. Someone talked to me for more than an hour about a display which I didn't buy after all that (though I am SO tempted to go back today and get it). The geniuses were great, too.

Oops. I live in Dallas so I guess I should've clarified... I won't be trekking NORTH of George Bush Turnpike to Willow Bend anymore provided that HP has the same hardware on display.

And heck, we are lucky to have two APL stores in the vicinity... some places don't have any.

The Houston Galleria store is one of the small ones too.

Still, probably better for Apple in the long run. Space in a mall like that can't be really cheap.
