Another Airport question

I have the old airport (802.11b)--my range is adequate (barely) but I think I may be having hardware problems. ( it is 3 years old)

Does it pay to go for a new Airport extreme--will it improve my range?

Should I wait for the upgrade to the new 802.11e that may be on it's way?

Does any one have any experience with Belkin's pre N router for the Mac??

    This does sound intriguing.

I use a netgear router - which has a built in broadband modem. Router's are better options if you're using broadband. The netgear does not say it is mac compatible but is easier to set up on Macs than PCs!
