Serious Powebook battery problem

I have the 1GHZ 12 in ch Powerbook. After updating to the latest OSX update, i think, I am now getting 10 minutes of battery life on my powerbook. Can anyone help me? Its only 2 years old, for crying out loud, maybe it wasn't the update but natural age of the battery showing?

    You may need to recalibrate the battery. after fully charging it, run the computer on battery until it goes to sleep, then plug it in again. Hopefully this will work.

    Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried that but unfortunately, it didn't change the results. Wonder if there is some other way?
