I would like to know if anyone has tried the Evoluent Vertical Mouse 2 - Left Hand Model? If you know of any reviews for this mouse, can you please point me to them.

Unforetunately, not by choice - I had a stroke at 12. I used to be a rightie. Only have the use of my left hand now.

A right handed friend has used the right handed version and said that after he got used to it he prefers it...but he did say that it was awkward in the beginning, but it only took him about a week to grow accustomed to it.

If you search on amazon.com for 'evoluent' you can find many (mostly favourable) reviews for that model and a previous version.

I've just been looking into various mouse/keyboard replacements to help combat RSI. Do you suffer from RSI symptoms or do you have other reasons for needing a mouse alternative? I believe most of the reviews are from the perspective of RSI sufferers.

I bought the similar Quill Mouse aka the Equill Airobic Mouse. It comes in left and right-handed versions too. I bought left even though I'm right-handed just to vary things around a bit.

It get's good reviews for ergonomic design, but apparently has low build quality and may break quite easily. I've only had it for 3 hours but so far I'm pleased with it. I think the main difference is that you don't need as much grip between your fingers and thumb because you push it around with your wrist/hand (not sure if that made sense, should be obvious from the photos what I mean).

I also bought one of the joystick-style grip mice that work on the same principle. It's an older (non-optical and beige) version of the 'mouse' shown at the link below. Got it for 20 UK pounds as it was end of the line. It's surprisingly comfortable, but I don't know if they do left-hand versions.
