Pinnacle is in talks to sell Steinberg to Yamaha. Avid has every video tool known to mankind so it's doubtful that they really need the video IP. It's the Steinberg Yamaha deal that I'm worried about. Steinberg's Nuendo 3 is a Pro Tools competitor and it makes you wonder if Avid is making a preemptive strike to destory competition for their bread and butter DAW.
