I just got an 867 powerbook 15 last week and I have these little marks on my screen which I think is from the keys when I close the lid....????? Is there something I should put over the keys when I close the lid and what should I use to clean my screen. Thanks.

It's probably natural grease and grime from your fingers on the keys.

Everybody gets those. Clean your screen or put a piece of paper between the screen and keyboard. I've seen iKlear at stores but I haven't tried it.

iKlear is perfect for this situation. Go get yourself some, and get you screen and trackpad for that matter, cleaned up.

same marks appeared on my PB G3 Firewire (but it took a lot longer ;-), it's from your fingers, maybe some plastic residue.

    use "screenwipes"

if the marks don't go away, throw you PB out of the window... ;-)

Klear screen makes these semi-disposable cloths that fit just right over the keyboard/trackpad area with a little trimming. They're flexible and don't impede the latch mechanism, which some of the stupid leather protectors do (OWC's even started to warp my screen panel a little on the first day, so I took it out immediately -- just use this little cleaning cloth now -- handy in two ways, heh). However, I might try (and you might want to also) Radtech's other solution -- a more permanent idea of the one above -- a .4mm thick microfiber sheet that goes over the keyboard and cleans the screen. They also make little bumpers to replace the Apple OEMs, but whatever... (www.radtech.us)

...one time after an all-nighter with plenty of coffee and various sugary junk food the grime on my laptop keys and screen was so thick, i had to sandblast it off <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[surprised]" />

I just use the very low-tech solution of keeping a doubled piece of cotton calico over the keyboard when I close the lid. The TiBook lid is so...squishy. If it's packed in my briefcase, it's even more important to shield the screen from those darn keys.
