Best type of RAM

Is there really a quality difference between different brands of RAM?? I never used to really care, but these days with large-quantity production there are a stack of lemons been produced. To be more specific I'm looking at PC 2100 512RAM (DDR) and from the same supplier of one brand goes for twice as much as another, for presumably the same thing! What brands are reliable?
