Just thought I'd let you all know they can be seen in person now.
wonderful, allthough the Mall of America store only had one in stock, and it was on a rotating display. couldn't play with it as much as i'd have liked.

Cool! I'll have to go out there. So, you're AppleInsider Staff, alcimedes? You've been found out!
The Atlanta store (Lenox Square) has one on display. It's in the window, though, so you can't get your hands on it.
It's amazing how thin the thing looks in person, even though it is the same thickness of current TiBooks (I think?) You'll have to see one in person to believe it. Awesome.
funny part was it didn't look as big in person as i thought it would.
wasn't able to see the light up keyboard either because it was on a turning display at the front, although an employee unplugged the display and we were playing around with it. he wanted to take it off there so bad he almost forgot you can't.
Saw it at The Grove on Tuesday. Wow...just...WOW. Beautiful machine and light considering it's size. You pick it up and you expect it to be so much heavier.
Which stores are you guys going to to see these? I'm going to go to one of the stores in the region tomorrow. Anyone know if the Woodfield or Oakbrook stores have any to see?
I was at CompUSA today (I was in the neighborhood, and we don't have an Apple store... yet (until summer)) and they didn't have the 17". I hadn't been to an Apple retailer since before MWSF, so I got to see the 12" PB (unfortunately, someone had changed the password and the staff hadn't yet reset the machine). I did get to use Keynote for a little while. It looked very cool.
Just got back from the Southpointe store in Chapel Hill. The 17 is awesome. I have a 15.2" PB. I couldn't believe it. I could definitley tote that thing around. It is not nearly as big in person. But the 12" looks tiny. I would definitley go fo the 17"... AWESOME
Maybe I'll check the Palisades store tomorrow or Wednesday. I might be around Westchester sometime this week so I could check that store to see if they have them.
I went to the one in San Diego... but they just have th e17" PB on window display. I touched it but the Apple Store dude kind of freaked out so I just looked at it and drooled. They say they won't have'em in til mid-March. Hmm... gotta get that cotract signed!!! Then I'll definitely get it.
