concatenated raid in tiger

Does anyone know what a concatenated raid is? I tried to google it and find out but am still unsure. I want to know what it is and what the purpose of it is.

well I'm guessing it's the same thing as "span"
basically, 2 drives show up as 1 icon on the desktop, but there is no speed boost or any real advantage other than .. 1 icon

A Concatenated Raid is a simple stripe set or Raid 0.
If you use Vertias Volume Manager you would see Raid 0 sets as a CONCAT set.
