Elgato Eye TV Wonder USB 2.0 questions

Hi,

I was thinking about picking up one of these & I was wondering if anyone has

any positive/negative reviews about it. I've got a new 17" powerbook with

10.4 & I have a Directv/Tivo receiver. What I want to do is edit the funny

clips from the SNL episodes that I have stored up into a compilation. Can I do

this in iMovie & burn it in iDVD? Someone told me that I had to use Toast. Also,

I'd like to email some clips to my cousin in Florida (The Will Ferrell jeopardy

clips). Can I save these as quicktime movie files & also does the eye tv wonder

let you resize the clips for the internet or could I do that in iMovie?

These features you want are built into EyeTV. You can access them directly from the menu. For CD/DVD burning, EyeTV works hand-in-hand with Toast 6 but there are other ways to do this. (EyeTV->iMovie->iDVD) Save for E-mail is also a option, and will automatically resize and compress your video.

    Sweet!

Do you know if there is a problem using a powerbook or would I need a

    desktop?

The latest version needs a G4-G5 processor. Anything with that should work. The difference is how much time it will take to convert.
