Can some Mac Genius figure out how to actually download the keynote as opposed to just streaming it. I know there used to be a secret way of doing this but I can't figure it out.

Yeah I want to download it. The servers are being hit so hard it's skipping and hardly any video. It's unwatchable.

I can't get this to work. I can't download it. I can't even get past Jobs walking out before quicktime freezes and quit/crashes.

Is the streaming causing problems for you guys too?

Yeah, I get a crash about 13 seconds of the way in. Always at the same point. 1 GHz Powerbook G4 12", you?

Has anyone managed to save a copy? I was hoping to watch it today at work (during my lunch hour of course ), but the firewall won't let the stream through . If not, no problem, I'll just have to wait 'till I get home tonight.

i'm on windows for my personal machine, so i only had quicktime 6 when i watched the keynote.

in the middle of it i switched over to quicktime 7 preview...and HOLY CRAP the quality was about 4x better.

    h.264 is awesome!

i think if you watch steve's keynote about switching to intel in full he really explains all the details about the move and it makes it really make sense.

Indeed . I watched about 30 seconds of it in QT7, and just for laugh tried out the 'double size' option - very nice looking. Previous kynotes were very blocky at that size.

Have you ever heard of blowing smoke up someones ass?

They have done it before... and they are doing it again.

    It's what companies do.

These are smart people... and the smoke is high tech smoke... Steve is not going to march out and say, "This new change is going to suck ass, and it bites, and fuck all of you... give me my payola".

Geeeez... i'm getting old I think.
