Transferring files

I have a friend who is thinking of throwing out her Dell and getting a new iMac G5.

Is there an easy way for her to transfer her files from the Dell to the G5?

You could create a share on the PC and mount it on the G5 and copy the stuff over or ftp it over (ftp from the pc to the mac). Burn a Cd with the data. E-mail yourself the data using gmail (1GB mailbox limit and 10MB attachment limit)

She could also buy a hard drive chassis and attach it to the new Mac.

    You can always use AIM/iChat.

Make sure the two computers are hooked together with an ethernet cable, or through a router, it doesn't matter. Set up two ridiculous sn's for AIM, log on one on each cpu, and start transferring. You can send gigs of data this way.
