Go here http://media.guardian.co.uk/diary/ "Londoners do it for themselves" (look for "Friday July 8, 2005") and click on the links.

Amazing how digital photography has altered the way we communicate, and also the way papers and agencies gather photographs.

In case there is a problem accessing the above (sorry), here is the text:

    Londoners do it for themselves

    Friday July 8, 2005

The London bomb attacks remind us just how democratic the media has become nowadays. Monkey directs readers to some of the many websites that are serving what is now known as the 7/7 community. Take a long look at the photographic website http://www.flickr.com to get a real feel to what it was like to be in the city after the explosions. Other Londoners in a defiant mood have posted their photos of themselves on http://www.werenotafraid.com showing they are unbroken and unbowed. For commuters, a sense of the mixed emotions they felt when they got on the tube this morning can be found at http://www.london-underground.blogspot.com or on http://www.londonist.com
