Install Tiger, restore question...

hi all,

i have done Del & Install for my mac.

i have back up my whole home folder to an external drive.



Question:



1) How can i restore my iTune's playlist, etc? like song rating, played time.



2) is it just drag my backup iTunes folder to my new iTunes folder? and the playlist will restore?

    Try this drag the contents of the music folder from your backup and place them into the new music folder that has been installed and open iTunes this has worked for me many times.

    yea, just drag the whole iTunes folder replace the current one, everything come back live, including the playlist too~

    You can also do this with a lot of other items as well and all work normally.

    Remember, actually drag the /Music/iTunes folder, not just the /Music/iTunes/iTunes Music folder. If you do the latter, it won't be taking the Library.XML file, which has all the song ratings etc in it.
