memory upgrade question

I am thinking of upgrading my Powerbook 12" (1.5 gHz, 512MB, OS 10.4.2)

to 1.25 GB.

Will I notice that the OS will feel faster or isn't it worth the upgrade? I think the MacOS feels a lot slower than my Windows XP machine and this annoyes me.

Is the Dane-Elec SO-Dimm 1Gb DDR PC2700, 200pins for EUR 125,- a good deal?

Thanks!

That's a pretty good deal, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, you might be able to squeeze out a few more euros (or dollars or whatever), but at the end of the day, you're not likely to save much more.

As far as performance, going from 512 MB to 1.25 GB will definitely help, especially when you're running many applications at the same time, or if you're running software such as Photoshop or Final Cut.

I would go for it if I were you (I consider 1 GB the minimum for "power users"). The first thing I did when I got my PowerBook was take it from 512 MB to 1 GB.

btw the price I mentioned was including 5 euros packaging.

I received the memory today, installed it...Damn what a difference!

For everyone new with MacOS: BUY MORE RAM! BUY MORE RAM!

It will make your computer fly! browsing, apps...a more different experience

than on Windows XP when upgrading RAM....

Even Window resizing etc is a bit faster, I guess Quartz is allowed to use more RAM now.

    Definately worth the money!
