DDR600 Ram

Will DDR600 ram work in a G5 system at DDR600 speeds, or will the system push the sticks back down to DDR400?

    It may work, but if the machine is spec'd for DDR400, it'll run at DDR400. Faster RAM doesn't make the machine faster.

    Yeah, the memory has no clock. It's the mobo that has the clock.

    So when a place like newegg sells DDR600. All that means is the ram is rated up to DDR600 safely and under warrenty?

    There is no JEDEC specification beyond DDR400 / PC3200 for DDR RAM.

    So read the restriction for operation and the terms of warrenty very carefully...

    Come on... if there's no standard and the RAM runs at (what would be) DDR600, what difference does it make. The manufacturer/vendor is guaranteeing that it runs at DDR600.
