64-bit MySQL

I just recently noticed that MySQL has posted 64 bit versions of MySQL 4.1 for use under Mac OS X 10.4. I previously used 4.0 releases which doesn't have a 64-bit version and isn't even specifically compiled for 10.4.

Anyhow, has anyone used the 64-bit version with their G5? If so, how does it compare to running the standard 32-bit version?

Luckily I have plenty of memory and my dualie should be a great candidate for the 64-bit version. I am planning to take the plunge sometime this week, but I'd love to hear others' experiences.

Installed 64 bit mysql last night and everything is working so far. Even seems to have better performance than before, however I haven't done any stringent tests and I'm comparing between versions (4.1.x versus 4.0.x).

Maybe this weekend I'll do some tests with the same 4.1.x release, to compare the 32 and 64 bit versions.
