Quicktime 7.0.2 updater

Does anyone know of a way of getting the update Quicktime other than using software update? My school was nice to block apple.com, the itunes music store, all searches and files containing the phrase "itunes" and software update in what I'm guessing is an attempt to stop people from downloading music (altogether). It doesn't make updating sofware any easier either. Any help appreciated!

Wow, what school is this, Ubermensch Akademie of Fascism, Draconian Chapter?

Bitch that they're keeping you from security updates for your computer, hooked up to their network.

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ is where you go to manually download software updates, but when you select the download you want you get sent to it's subfolder:

    QuickTime 7.0.2 update

    http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...cktime702.html

    XSan Tuner

    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/xsantuner.html

    Java Security Update

    http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...ityupdate.html

If you can get the school to allow access to http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ and any of it's sub folders you should be fine.

When you say "My school" it sounds like you are a student that is hoping to make use of the school's high speed internet access. If you are, go to the student body councel and see if they can do anything about getting access to the downloads page.

If the school blocked apple.com, none of those links will work.

Couldn't he access it through a "remote proxy" or am I just talking out of my ass?

it really is completely over the top. I can't even use online help files like, for example, the one that comes with terminal. the problem is I think it's remotely administered, otherwise I'm sure they'd be ok with it if I just asked someone at the front desk politely
