With a heavy heart, I bid OmniWeb and the sneekypeeks farewell to now use Mozilla as my default browser. I've been trying the Mach-O nightly builds for some time and they've always been significantly faster than OmniWeb. Only recently, though, has Mozilla come to be stable enough for regular use.
But what about Omni's great looks?
The project is already working with verions that use the new Quartz text rendering. There's a snapshot somewhere... I'll try to find it...
It is pretty dern impressive. Much better than the last two builds (and they were pretty decent themselves if not always highly stable). I like that you can switch themes and such on the fly now. And connection for connection it rips IE a new one when it comes to loading pages quickly.
Mine was only 14.9 megs. Did I not download the Mach-O version? If I didn't and it's better, I'll be really happy. The version I have now is pretty damn good as it is. Who knew that tabbed browsing could be so cool?

It doesn't work with mine. However my bank's page doesn't work in IE either... You are best to just try it and see.
Where are you getting the Mach-O builds from. On the mozilla.org ftp server in the nightly directory I can only find Mach-O builds that are 1.1Mb and lacking the actual Mozilla binary.
First off, to everyone who was slagging mozilla a year ago during the M5 days about how slow and buggy it was...

Second, there is mozilla the browser, and the 'full meal deal' which includes Chatzilla, Mail, etc which is a shitload of bloatware a la Communicator. You want just the browser. Should be approx 17 MB or so.
Third, what OSX needs is some thing along the lines of Galeon. Galeon is the shizzat! It takes mozilla's HTML rendrering engine, chucks the UI and uses OS native widgets. In OSX, this would mean a) speed, b) OS integration, and C) speed.

Have you heard of Cocoazilla/Fizilla? It's a work in progress that hooks the engine into a new Cocoa interface.

Hey, this is great. I just DL'd the new Mozilla and its nice! Not only is it smoother and more stable (so far) than the last version I tried, it also works with my online banking (big complaint about previous Mozilla, OmniWeb, and iCab). Plus it formats espn.com properly -- not that this is the most important site I view, but just that it seems to be a hard one for many browsers.

Check the directories from a few days ago.
