keep brand new ipod or sell and get nano?

I have a delema, recently sent my ipod in for repairs to apple because of unresponsive click wheel and messed battery/ticking noise/i wanted a new one.
So they gave me a brand new on sealed, well i guess not sealed but in the "dont steal music" plastic bag thing. sweet deal!
Before this happened my headphones went though the wash and only one ear bud works. my mom says she will pick up the phones cause she did it so thats not a problem.
Should i try and sell this new/used ipod and get a nano or just stick with the new mini?
so i payed (250) 280 with taxes for this ipod CDN
i dont have headphones.. ($50 cdn)
so i thought i could sell it with the belt clip and cable and new ipod for (no headphones)$200CDN
then take 200CDN and some money from mom for headphones so maybe $250 +$50 cause nano is $299 + tax
.... or just keep it
